Unlocked ECUs

Our unlocked 'Plug & Play' ECUs are ready to fit and come pre programmed with an immobiliser delete. This is the process of removing the security/immobiliser software from the control unit so that it can be fitted to any vehicle with matching part numbers. The unlocked ECU will start with any key and doesn't require any coding. This process usually does not affect the central locking as this is coded to the body control computer and not the engine ECU.

An unlocked Plug and Play ECU gives you the flexibility to replace a faulty or locked ECU without spending lots on a brand new unit and you also won't need to pay main dealer prices to code the unit to your vehicle.

Ordering process

  1. First you need to get the vehicle diagnosed by a professional mechanic to confirm that you need a replacement ECU.
  2. Once you know that the ECU is the cause of your problems, have a search through our webshop for the correct part. It’s important to match all part numbers. Send us a photo if you are unsure on compatibility.
  3. Choose any optional extras such as a remap, EGR delete, DPF Delete, or even AdBlue delete. We’re up to date with the most advanced solutions.
  4. We ship the ECU using express postage as soon as we get your order. Once you’ve received the ECU, simply connect the ECU and start your engine.

Advanced programming equipment

We use the latest equipment to program the EEPROM and Flash memories of the ECU.

Where possible we program using bench service mode, this means that the original seal on the ECU is not broken and there is no risk of water ingress in future.

Boot mode programming

Some ECUs must be opened to program through the processors boot strap loader. Here we can program the EEPROM and Flash memory without any soldering. This means the integrity of the circuit board is not affected. After programming the ECU is sealed with a high grade RTV sealant to ensure a reliable and water tight seal.

Impossible to unlock?

Some ECUs can’t yet be unlocked via a simple software solution, for these ECUs we can fit a complete emulator board to the ECU. The emulator sends the unlock code stored in the EEPROM memory to the processor, this lets the ECU send the signal to start the engine.
