Volkswagen Golf PCR2.1 ECU Unlock with stage 1 Remap

The PCR2.1 ECU commonly suffers from corrosion problems due to it's location in the engine bay.

We were asked by a customer if we could unlock a replacement ECU and also give a stage 1 remap at the same time.

We connected to the PCR2.1 ECU using Dimsport Trasdata in Bench service mode, this method is nice because there is no need to open the ECU casing so no risk of damaging the board, plus the original seal of the donor unit does not need to be broken.

We unlocked the immobiliser system using an advanced solution which uses a calculation based on the processor MCU ID. There are many incomplete solution on the market which will give a permanant fault light when using a donor ECU, however our method works flawlessly without any faults.

We also made a nice stage 1 remap to a sensible 145 BHP to give some new life to this poorly VW Golf. The customer was very happy, most of all that his car would start after over 6 months off the road, and also for the exciting new power that came with the new ECU!
